How Has Your Life Changed Since the Pandemic Bagan?

In October, 2019 a virus called Corona (Covid-19) came into this world and this has changed our lives immensely. It started in south Asia and then affected the rest of the world. This virus has had so many effects that researchers of all kinds, such as scientists, doctors, historians and so on have been trying to figure it out. This is a story about how this virus has affected me personally.

Firstly, it has affected my freedom to socialise which I really took for granted. We would go to places, meet each other every week and attend so many events. However, now that this virus has come into our lives, we are limited. At first, I was not too miffed, although, after a while I got bored of the same old routine over and over again. I think Coronavirus has, over all, taught us a lesson. A lesson that tells us to be grateful for what we are able to do and who we are able to meet.

Secondly, trying to be safe from Corona has affected my life. Before, I would come home from school, and start doing homework with ample time to spare. Now, I come home and I must sanitize my backpack, jacket, snow pants, chromebook and lunch box as well as change my clothes. Then, I have to complete my homework and by the end of the day I am left with little to no time. In school, I would go on field trips but due to Covid-19, we cannot do this anymore because of safety reasons. Now, we must wear masks in class and be distanced from each other. This particular experience has taught me to be more careful and cautious of sharing things with others.

Lastly, Covid-19 has affected travel plans for many including me. When Covid- 19 had begun, my family and I went to Pakistan for the school break. Then, the pandemic got worse and my family and I could not get back as the airlines had shut down. We ended up staying in Pakistan for around 3 months! When we finally got a flight to Canada, Corona had spread even more. Also, it was very expensive to travel. I am sure many people had finally saved up enough money to go for Hajj, so Corona made a dent in their plans. I love to go to different countries, and experience new things. However, this virus has limited us to travel, as it did with many other things.

In conclusion, I feel like the Corona virus has changed my life in many ways, but at the same time it has taught us so many things. My life has been changed in travel, socialising and doing the extra tasks to ensure safety. It has also taught me to be grateful, patient, cautious and resourceful. Even after all the research and vaccines, I think Corona will still be a part of our lives so we should all learn to live with this.
