Is COVID-19 the final Aza’ab on Humanity
These are challenging times. During these times as Muslims, we keep on forwarding and receiving messages for making duas, seeking forgiveness from God Almighty for Touba & Istighfaar, seeking Baghshish and Maghfirat from Allah. We have even witnessed many messages that this is Azaab for non-Muslims rejoicing the facts that all the adultery and places committing crimes as per Islam are now closed, examples Cassinos, Bars, nightclubs etc. Perhaps they are still being continued at a smaller scale at some isolated places or perhaps not! But the most important thing for us to worry, as Muslims is
- Today Haram is closed
- Today Tawaf is closed
- Today all Masajid are closed
- Today Jumma Prayers are closed
- Today hajj is closed.
- Today umrah is closed.
- Today Muslims burial rituals are closed
Perhaps people are still doing it at a smaller scale at some isolated places or perhaps not! We as Muslims need to realize now, sooner rather than later, that this is happening all across the world to Muslims and non-Muslims alike! To me, as a student of Quran, this is the final AZA’AB from GOD Almighty for everyone on the planet!!! We as Muslims are responsible for this, same as non-Muslims; if they did bad, we did much worse than them! We do not even have the excuse since the light, the noor; the holy Quran did reach us and our beloved prophet Mohammad p.b.u.h. was indeed sent to us as God’s messenger to guide us.
[17:15] Whoever is guided is only guided for his soul. And whoever errs only errs against it. And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. And never would We punish until We sent a messenger.
Today, we as Muslims, cry in our duas asking for forgiveness for our sins but in reality, do we really know our sins? Have we even identified what we are seeking forgiveness for??? Our Duas is hollow words coming out of our mouth and our tears are crocodile tears! Many of the major sins being committed by Muslims all across the world, we, as Muslims, do not even consider them as sins anymore because these sins, have been so engraved in our societies, our families, our day to day living that these have become part of a norm for us as Muslims.
If we look all around the Muslims World, we have had earlier Aza’ab too in the form of confusion in deed/division in many sects, losing our dignity and respect (in the wake of Islamophobia) or war, pain & suffering inflicted on Muslims all across the world, even before the advent of this Pandemic of Covid-19. And just like God said in Ayah 7:182, we, as Muslims, didn’t even perceive these events as Aza’ab by God almighty. This COVID-19 is the final AZA’AB from GOD Almighty and if we don’t wake up now as Muslims, it will be too late!
[7:182] Those who reject Our signs (Ayaat), We shall gradually visit with punishment, in ways they perceive not.”
If we read the stories narrated in Quran of the previous generations, we would realize that one common feature across all previous Ummats on whom Aza’ab has been afflicted by God Almighty is Kufr. Kufr means to deny, to reject, to conceal and to hide. Whenever the term Kufr is used in Quran, its used as an act of rejecting or denying or concealing God’s Ayaat (Haq/confirmed truth). There are two types of Ayaat of God Almighty. One is the words of Quran – Quranic Ayaat and the second Non-Quranic Ayaat, is the many creations of God almighty scattered all around us in Science and Universe. When Quran refers to someone as Kafir, what is actually meant is the one who reject, denies or conceals God’s Ayaat for both of these types.
1) Quranic Ayaat
We deny/reject Quranic Ayaat, when we don’t spend time to understand these Quranic Ayaat, when we do not utilize our faculties to think and ponder on these Quranic Ayaat, when we don’t believe in these Ayaat or when we do not follow the Deen – the rules and laws embedded in these Ayaat, in letter and spirit or when we do not submit with our whole being in compliance to these Rules mentioned in these Ayaat. By following only the scholars and not spending time and attention on Quranic Ayaat ourselves, by not utilizing our faculties in understanding the Quranic Ayaat ourselves and by following someone else blindly, we are actually being a Kafir.
[25:73] And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind.
[21:10] We have certainly sent down to you a Book in which is your Zikr. Then will you not reason/use intellect?
2) Non-Quranic Ayaat
(All the God’s creations scattered all around us in Science and Universe) We deny the Non-Quranic Ayaat when we do not utilize all our faculties, our 6 senses, our faculties of thinking and reflecting to seek knowledge, when we do not aim to use our faculties to uncover the hidden truth (haq) hidden behind these Ayaat of God almighty. It was because of reflecting and thinking on these Ayaat that pursuit of knowledge used to be considered as a holy activity by the earliest Muslims (Muslims of Golden Era). By not utilizing our faculties, we are rejecting these Non-Quranic Ayaat of God Almighty and therefore becoming a Kafir.
[7:179] We have destined many men and jinn for hell. They have hearts but do not understand, eyes but do not see. They have ears but do not hear. Those are like Animals; Nay, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless.
So if we look at our behaviour as Muslims, towards either of the above type of Allah’s Ayaat, we would realize that we, all of us as Muslims, although may be calling ourselves Muslims, are actually Kafir as per Quran. This COVID-19 is an Aza’ab, the most final and conclusive one, on ALL of us here on Earth and the only solution as per Quran is Touba. Its only Allah who can save us from this Aza’ab now!
[13:11] …..Allah does not change a people’s lot unless they change what is in their hearts. But when (once) Allah wills a people’s punishment, there can be no turning it back, nor will they find, besides Him, any to protect.
TOUBA as per clear directives of Quran is the only solution at this time but Touba is not just some hollow words coming out of our mouths where we don’t even realize what we have been doing wrong as Muslims. TOUBA needs some action, we need to identify what we Muslims have been doing wrong for generations and generations; how to rectify our actions, behaviour and deeds; then need to rectify it, then make a firm commitment with ourselves and GOD Almighty that we will never do that again; and then seek Forgiveness from God Almighty and then and only then we can hope for HIS forgiveness. Please do not do just make dua and sit back; that’s what we, as Muslims have been doing for the last around 1000 years. Now is the time to think reflect and Act, Now is the time to assess and judge ourselves, reform and rectify and Seek Touba as per Quran, Now is the time to Act!!!
