Indeed, this is to Makara (لَمَكْرٌ) Makartumuhu (مَكَرْتُمُوهُ) in the Madeenat (الْمَدِينَةِ) so that you Tukhreju (لِتُخْرِجُوا) from it it’s Ahleha (أَهْلَهَا). [Quran 7:124] ‘Not Qat’a’na (لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ) your Aedekum (أَيْدِيَكُمْ) and Arjulkum (وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ) from Khilaafin (خِلَافٍ); then not S’alabnakum (لَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ) you Ajma’een (أَجْمَعِينَ).’

[Quran 7:126] ‘And what you Tanqemu (تَنْقِمُ) except indeed, Amanna (آمَنَّا) with Ayaat (بِآيَاتِ) Rabbena (رَبِّنَا) to what Ja’atena (جَاءَتْنَا). Rabanna (رَبَّنَا) Afreghun (أَفْرِغْ) upon all S’abara (صَبْرًا) and Tawafana (وَتَوَفَّنَا) Muslemeen (مُسْلِمِينَ).’
[Quran 7:127] And Qala (وَقَالَ) the Mala’a (الْمَلَأُ) from Quome (قَوْمِ) Fira’un, ‘Atazaru (أَتَذَرُ) Musa and his Quom (وَقَوْمَهُ) so that they Yafsedu (لِيُفْسِدُوا) in the Arze (الْأَرْضِ) and they Yazraka (وَيَذَرَكَ) and your deities, whose laws you have been following.’ Qala (قَالَ), ‘Sanuqtala (سَنُقَتِّلُ) their Abna’ahum (أَبْنَاءَهُمْ) and Nustaha (وَنَسْتَحْيِي) their Nisaahum (نِسَاءَهُمْ) and indeed, Fouqahum (فَوْقَهُمْ) them Qaaherun (قَاهِرُونَ).’
[Quran 7:128] Qala (قَالَ) Musa to his Quom (لِقَوْمِهِ), ‘Asta’enu (اسْتَعِينُوا) with Allah and As’baru (وَاصْبِرُوا). Indeed, the Arze (الْأَرْضَ) to Allah, Allah Yures’aha (يُورِثُهَا) it of Allah’s Yashahu (يَشَاءُ) of Allah’s A’ebaad (عِبَادِهِ). And the A’aqibat (وَالْعَاقِبَةُ) is for the Muttequeen (لِلْمُتَّقِينَ).’
[Quran 7:129] Qalu ( قَالُوا), ‘ Auzena (أُوذِينَا) from Qabale (قَبْلِ) indeed you gave to all of us and from after what Ja’tana (جِئْتَنَا).’ Qala (قَالَ), ‘A’saa (عَسَىٰ) your Rabb (رَبُّكُمْ). Indeed, Allah Yuhleku (يُهْلِكَ) your Adu’kum (عَدُوَّكُمْ) and Allah Yastakhlefakum (وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ) you in the Arxe (الْأَرْضِ). Then they Yanzur (فَيَنْظُرَ) how you do.’
B. THE CONCEPT:
THE CONTEXT
The earlier Ayahs of Surah Al-A’raf discuss the Endeavors of Nabiy Musa. Nabiy Musa aimed to establish the path of Allah and rescue Bani Israel from Fira’un suppression. Nabiy Musa aimed to distinguish the right path from the wrong one, and support and strengthen Bani Israel. He emphasized that nothing is worthy, fit, or suitable as per the epitome and prestige of Allah except absolute truth, justice, duties, and due rights earned through deeds. Nabiy Musa presented Allah’s Ayat to Fira’un and his allies, demonstrating his authority and influence as Allah’s Rasool. He began reversing impurities in people’s souls and systems by reversing these unjust laws and practices. This process aimed to remove clogs and impurities, allowing people to function freely and in accordance with Allah’s design. This process led to a shift towards intellectuals with care, compassion, and justice for everyone. This became clear evidence of Allah’s wisdom and recognizable to those who think, watch, and focus on their knowledge.
We also learned about How Fira’un Manipulated his People and what they did as per this Manipulation by Fira’un: The people of Fira’un, who came together in cooperation and unity with each other, were blindly following their customs and traditions, lacking logic and reasoning. When they enquired Fira’un about the Nabiy Musa’s supporters and their desire to throw them out of their land, Fira’un instructed his nation to leave Nabi Musa and his followers to their own devices, fearing their actions would result in their perfect recompense. The people of Fira’un were manipulated by Fira’un to support him in his endeavors by promising success, prosperity, peace, security, safety, height, and unity. He manipulated them by creating a wishful thinking for them to be the winners, conquerors, champions, and front-runners, ensuring their success and authority over others. People of Fira’un, manipulated and conditioned by Fira’un, united and cooperated in fighting against Nabiy Musa and his supporters. They fabricated, manufactured, prepared, delivered, used, and presented tools to misleading people from the path of Allah.
Lastly, we also learned How practical implementation of Allah’s Message coverts those who were weak earlier into Victorious. When Nabiy Musa and his supporters presented Allah’s message, hidden knowledge was brought to light, bringing humanity to the Hidayah of Allah’s Noor. This enlightened vision led to a united community, living, working, and cooperating, bringing great information and knowledge to fruition. Allah inspired Musa to change his behaviors and conducts by presenting his official seal, symbolizing his authority and influence. This implementation of Allah’s message firmly curtailed falsification and lies, establishing absolute truth, justice, due rights, and justice based on people’s choices, approaches, and actions. The bani-Israel, previously humiliated and suppressed, revolted against Fira’un and his nation by altering themselves deeply. They became predominant, victorious, and successful after witnessing the benefits of new Allah laws. They reflected on their conduct and speech, becoming Amanu, who sought knowledge, were at utter conviction with Allah’s system, and upheld their covenant with Allah, the one and only Rabb, the Rabb of Musa and Harun, the being who is carrying the Rabobiat for all universes, jurisdictions, worlds, empires, and kingdoms.
CONCEPT OF THESE AYAHS
Ayah 7:123, “Qala (قَالَ) Fira’un, ‘Amantum (آمَنْتُمْ) with him Qabal (قَبْلَ) that Azana (آذَنَ) to you? Indeed, this is to Makara (لَمَكْرٌ) Makartumuhu (مَكَرْتُمُوهُ) in the Madeenat (الْمَدِينَةِ) so that you Tukhreju (لِتُخْرِجُوا) from it it’s Ahleha (أَهْلَهَا). Then Soufa (فَسَوْفَ) you Ta’lamuna (تَعْلَمُونَ).”
Ayah 7:124, “‘Not Qat’a’na (لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ) your Aedekum (أَيْدِيَكُمْ) and Arjulkum (وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ) from Khilaafin (خِلَافٍ); then not S’alabnakum (لَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ) you Ajma’een (أَجْمَعِينَ).”
Reflected from conducts and speech (قَالَ) Fira’un, ‘Do you use your intellect to seek knowledge in order to be at a stage of utter conviction (آمَنْتُمْ) with him before (قَبْلَ) that proclaimed and announced (آذَنَ) to you? Indeed, this is to plot (لَمَكْرٌ) his conspiracy upon you (مَكَرْتُمُوهُ) in the receivables, so all of you will have the same recompense (الْمَدِينَةِ) so that you draw out (لِتُخْرِجُوا) from it, its owners and caretakers (أَهْلَهَا). Then acknowledge and realize (فَسَوْفَ) what you know and are seeking knowledge of (تَعْلَمُونَ).’
‘Do you not sever, disconnect and cut off (لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ) your efforts that you put forth for your accountability (أَيْدِيَكُمْ) and your resources (وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ) of being in opposition (خِلَافٍ); then not be foundation, building block (لَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ) all together (أَجْمَعِينَ).’
Thus, when Allah’s message as implemented by Nabiy Musa and Haroon, was witnessed by and influenced people of Fira’un to reflect on their conduct and speech, they became Momin. Witnessing his people changing sides, from his to the side of Musa, Fira’un interacted with his people that ‘how can you have an utter conviction with Musa, without my approval and announcement? What he is doing is nothing but a conspiracy and you becoming part of his plan and his supporter, is going to cost you for you to face the same recompense as punishment like him since you are joining his efforts and endeavors to evict from this earth those who are its rightful owners and caretakers. Then gear up and be prepared to acknowledge what you are doing, in order to receive the payback. Do not sever, disconnect, and cut off your efforts that you put forth for your accountability and your resources as opposition to me and do not you all together become his foundation and building blocks.
Ayah 7:125, “Qaalu (قَالُوا), ‘Indeed, to us is Rabanna (رَبِّنَا) Munqalebun (مُنْقَلِبُونَ).”
Ayah 7:126, “And what you Tanqemu (تَنْقِمُ) except indeed, Amanna (آمَنَّا) with Ayaat (بِآيَاتِ) Rabbena (رَبِّنَا) to what Ja’atena (جَاءَتْنَا). Rabanna (رَبَّنَا) Afreghun (أَفْرِغْ) upon all S’abara (صَبْرًا) and Tawafana (وَتَوَفَّنَا) Muslemeen (مُسْلِمِينَ).”
Reflected from conducts and speech (قَالُوا), ‘Indeed, to us is Rabanna (رَبِّنَا) changed our lives completely in meaningful, deep ways and in all aspects (مُنْقَلِبُونَ).’
‘And what you harbor malice, bear grudge against, be hostile towards, be full of vindictive feelings against as manifestations of feeling of jealously and envy (تَنْقِمُ) except indeed, we all use our intellect to seek knowledge in order to be at a stage of utter conviction (آمَنَّا) with signs of Allah (بِآيَاتِ) the Rabb for all of us (رَبِّنَا) to what has been brought to fruition (جَاءَتْنَا). Our Rabb (رَبَّنَا) let us take it all in, and pour (أَفْرِغْ) upon all being persistent and perseverant in being on the path of Allah (صَبْرًا) and let us face the recompense of our actions and deeds (وَتَوَفَّنَا) as submitters, obedient ones and those who have lived their lives in alignment with Deen-e-Islam, in complete submission and obedience to Allah’s laws (مُسْلِمِينَ).’
Those people who have become Momin, in their utter conviction with Musa based on Allah’s message, they responded to Fira’un threats that, ‘Indeed, to us is our Rabb, the one who is carrying the process of Rabibiat for all of us. And indeed, we have changed our lives completely in meaningful, deep ways and in all aspects in order to put our trusts and reliance on Allah as our Rabb. The reason why you harbor malice, bear grudge against, are hostile towards, full of vindictive feelings against us is because we all use our intellect to seek knowledge in order to be at a stage of utter conviction with Ayaat of Allah- the Rabb for all of us based on what has been brought to fruition upon us as Allah’s Message. Our Rabb will let us take it all in, and pour upon us the mindsets and perseverance so that we remain persistent and perseverant on the path of Allah. Indeed, our Rabb will let us face the recompense of our actions and deeds as submitters, obedient ones and those who have lived their lives in alignment with Deen-e-Islam, in complete submission and obedience to Allah’s laws.
Ayah 7:127, “And Qala (وَقَالَ) the Mala’a (الْمَلَأُ) from Quome (قَوْمِ) Fira’un, ‘Atazaru (أَتَذَرُ) Musa and his Quom (وَقَوْمَهُ) so that they Yafsedu (لِيُفْسِدُوا) in the Arze (الْأَرْضِ) and they Yazraka (وَيَذَرَكَ) and your deities, whose laws you have been following.’ Qala (قَالَ), ‘Sanuqtala (سَنُقَتِّلُ) their Abna’ahum (أَبْنَاءَهُمْ) and Nustaha (وَنَسْتَحْيِي) their Nisaahum (نِسَاءَهُمْ) and indeed, Fouqahum (فَوْقَهُمْ) them Qaaherun (قَاهِرُونَ).”
And reflected from conducts and speech (وَقَالَ) those who came together in support and cooperation with each other (الْمَلَأُ) from the nation (قَوْمِ) of Fira’un, ‘leave, disseminate and end association and relationship with (أَتَذَرُ) Musa and those who he is trying to establish and strengthen- his Quom (وَقَوْمَهُ) since they are causing corruption and discord (لِيُفْسِدُوا) in the earth (الْأَرْضِ) and they have left, ended their association and relationship with you (وَيَذَرَكَ) and your deities, whose laws you have been following.’ Reflected from conducts and speech (قَالَ), ‘Let you metaphorically and literally kill, shatter confidence, abuse, snatch away, weaken and make them ineffective (سَنُقَتِّلُ) their resourceful segments (أَبْنَاءَهُمْ) and let them live and survive (وَنَسْتَحْيِي) those from among them who are resource starved (نِسَاءَهُمْ) and indeed, this is how they will give preference (فَوْقَهُمْ) to us as those who are to be relied upon and be dependent upon for the resources (قَاهِرُونَ).’
Those who came together in support and cooperation with each other from the nation of Fira’un, they set forth to leave, disseminate and end their associations with Musa, those who were with him and those who he was trying to establish and strengthen since in their mindsets they were the one who were causing corruption and discord in the earth. Since Musa and those who were with him, have left and ended their association with those with Fira’un and their deities, whose laws they were following instead of Allah’s Laws, the people of Fira’un set about to metaphorically kill their resourceful segments by shattering their confidence, abusing them, snatch away their resources, weakening them and make them ineffective. While they would let such people survive who were resource starved and lacked strength and resources. This is how, they were aiming to make those with Musa as dependent upon Fira’un for these resources.
Ayah 7:128, “Qala (قَالَ) Musa to his Quom (لِقَوْمِهِ), ‘Asta’enu (اسْتَعِينُوا) with Allah and As’baru (وَاصْبِرُوا). Indeed, the Arze (الْأَرْضَ) to Allah, Allah Yures’aha (يُورِثُهَا) it of Allah’s Yashahu (يَشَاءُ) of Allah’s A’ebaad (عِبَادِهِ). And the A’aqibat (وَالْعَاقِبَةُ) is for the Muttequeen (لِلْمُتَّقِينَ).”
Reflected from conducts and speech (قَالَ) Musa to his Quom (لِقَوْمِهِ), ‘Come to the Hidaya of Allah from the darkness, the enlightenment and path (اسْتَعِينُوا) with Allah and be persistent and perseverant (وَاصْبِرُوا). Indeed, the earth and all its habitants (الْأَرْضَ) belong to Allah, Allah assigns it as inheritance based on responsibilities and duties (يُورِثُهَا) in accordance with Allah’s system, as per the defined set of Laws as created and set in motion by Allah based on laws of cause and effect (يَشَاءُ) of Allah’s system and those who follow the laws of Allah in complete obedience (عِبَادِهِ). And the outcome, the retribution and the payback (وَالْعَاقِبَةُ) is for those who observe Taqwa; who follow these laws by being extra careful and cautious to remain within the boundaries of Deen (لِلْمُتَّقِينَ).’
While the people of Fira’un were adamant to weaken the Bani israel, Nabiy’s Musa’s interactions with his nation was that of encouragement and support, who endeavored to stress to his nation to ‘continue to come to the state of being brought to the Hidayah of Allah’s Noor, from the earlier state of being in the darkness of their Kufar; the Hidayah which was hidden from them earlier, but has now been brough to light to them- referring to the benefits of, the state of and being on Hidayah in terms of enlightened vision and the state of being on the path of Allah. And this can only be done once they would continue to be persistent and perseverant in their efforts and endeavors. He stressed to them that the earth and all its habitants belong to Allah and Allah assigns it as inheritance based on responsibilities and duties in accordance with Allah’s system, as per the defined set of Laws as created and set in motion by Allah based on laws of cause and effect of Allah’s system to those who follow the laws of Allah in complete obedience and submission. This is the outcome, the retribution, and the payback for those who observe Taqwa; who follow these laws by being extra careful and cautious to remain within the boundaries of Deen.
Ayah 7:129, “Qalu ( قَالُوا), ‘ Auzena (أُوذِينَا) from Qabale (قَبْلِ) indeed you gave to all of us and from after what Ja’tana (جِئْتَنَا).’ Qala (قَالَ), ‘A’saa (عَسَىٰ) your Rabb (رَبُّكُمْ). Indeed, Allah Yuhleku (يُهْلِكَ) your Adu’kum (عَدُوَّكُمْ) and Allah Yastakhlefakum (وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ) you in the Arxe (الْأَرْضِ). Then they Yanzur (فَيَنْظُرَ) how you do.”
Reflected from conducts and speech ( قَالُوا), ‘Were we suffering from hurt, harm, injury including verbal, emotional, psychological hurt (أُوذِينَا) from before (قَبْلِ) indeed you gave to all of us and from after what your brought to fruition (جِئْتَنَا).’ Reflected from conducts and speech (قَالَ), ‘Is capable, able and all powerful (عَسَىٰ) your Rabb (رَبُّكُمْ). Indeed, Allah will destroy (يُهْلِكَ) your enemies and those in opposition to you (عَدُوَّكُمْ) and Allah will make you successors and caretakers (وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ) of the planet earth and all its inhabitants (الْأَرْضِ). Then they will observe with undivided attention and will a willingness to apply whatever they observe as to (فَيَنْظُرَ) how you do.’
Based on Nabiy Musa’s endeavors for his quom to remain persistent, their response was that we were suffering from hurt, harm, injury including verbal, emotional, psychological hurt even before as well as now even after you have brought to us Allah’s message’ in terms of there should have been a difference in terms of our situations being changed and our suffering to be over. The reply to his nation by nabiy Musa was Allah is indeed capable, able and all-powerful to destroy your enemies and those in opposition to you. You must keep the trusts in Allah as Allah will make you successors and caretakers of the planet earth and all its inhabitants. It would be then, that they would observe with undivided attention and will a willingness to apply whatever they observe as to how you have done this.’
C. LESSONS AS PER THESE AYAHS:
These Ayahs of Surah Al-A’raf basically tell us the story of Nabiy Musa and Fira’un as follows
- FIRA’UN’S INTERACTIONS WITH THOSE WHO HAVE AMANU WITH MUSA: When Allah’s message, implemented by Nabiy Musa and Haroon, influenced Fira’un’s people, Fira’un threatened his people stating that joining his conspiracy would result in punishment. He advised people to acknowledge their efforts and not cut off their resources in opposition to him by becoming Musa’s foundation and building blocks. To which these people, who have become part of Bani Israel, responded to Fira’un’s threats that they have changed their lives in meaningful ways to trust and rely on Allah as their Rabb and to be at utter conviction with Allah’s Ayaat. It is because of this perseverant mindset that they would aim to remain persistent on the path of Allah, as they look forward to them facing the recompense of their actions and deeds as submitters, obedient ones, and those living in alignment with Deen-e-Islam
- FIRA’UN’S PEOPLE ATTROCITIES AGAINST THOSE WITH MUSA: Fira’un’s people united in support and cooperation to end their association with Musa, who along with his supporters, they thought were causing corruption and discord. As Musa and his followers left Fira’un and their deities, the people of Fira’un began to kill their resourceful segments by shattering their confidence, abusing them, and stealing resources. They aimed to make those with Musa dependent on Fira’un for resources, strength, and livelihoods.
- NABIY’S MUSA’S ENDEAVORS: Nabiy’s Musa encouraged and supported those with him, urging them to come to the Hidayah of Allah’s Noor. He emphasized the benefits of enlightened vision and the path of Allah, which can only be achieved through persistence and perseverance. He emphasized that the earth and its inhabitants belong to Allah, and those who follow the laws of Allah in obedience and submission will receive retribution and a payback. Nabiy Musa urged his quom to remain persistent, despite suffering from verbal, emotional, and psychological hurt. He emphasized Allah’s ability to destroy enemies and those in opposition, and urged them to keep trusting in Him. He emphasized the rewards, perfect accountability, and recompense as inheritors of the earth as caretakers for those who observe Taqwa and remain cautious within Deen’s boundaries. Then Fira’un people will observe with attentiveness and willingness to apply their observations as to how to be Khalifa on earth and based on what deeds and behaviors.
