At all time and for all communities, historical and cultural heritages has always been the primary references for humans when it comes to build the path of their existence and their societies. While the stage of childhood justifies this pattern, it no longer can be consider sustainable at the stage of adulthood. Indeed, once all of our faculties of reasoning are functional and ready to be used, the call to the path of autonomy becomes audible. Unfortunately, the psychological attachment to the heritage of our forefather as well as the comfort of the idleness it demands of our mind causes most of us to ignore the call, and those with an Islamic religious culture do not escape this pattern. Most of what we know of Islam and Quran comes from preconceived ideas that we have inherited from our forefathers. Nowadays, The Quran is used as a sacred/untouchable reference to explain and/or confirm our biases, thus making us justify the unjustifiable.
