How has your life changed since the Pandemic began?
Pandemic has changed everyone’s life. We are living in a historic era of our times! Every incident in our life has an impact, it can be good or bad or both. It’s the way we think about it. Currently, we are fighting this deadly virus and it has affected me socially, physically, and emotionally, on the other hand, it has brought some good things as well
Firstly, I wanted to talk about the bad things of this Pandemic. I can’t meet and play with my friends or go to their houses because only five people per house are allowed. I also can’t get enough exercise because I spend most of my time lying or sitting on the bed. Another bad thing that happened was since we are inside then we use more devices like iPads, phones, and TVs. These devices can damage our eyes and we also do online school so the eyes are being more affected. Family gatherings are next to impossible, all of the birthdays were not fun because no one can come over or we can’t go somewhere. All we did was buy a cake and celebrated it virtually which was so boring. New Year’s Day was also quiet and dull because we couldn’t watch fireworks or celebrate with our friends. Along with these bad things we at least learned to be patient and more adaptable.
Now I am going to talk about the good things. The best thing about this pandemic was that we got closer to Allah and we learned more about his creations by taking the WQT Quran classes and reciting the Quran daily. Ramadan was fun and it was easier to fast as we were indoor, we also made a homemade decoration for Ramadan which was beautiful. We learned more about devices and technology due to online classes, initially, it was new for us but then we started enjoying specially our virtual classrooms. There is more family time which helped us in making sweet memories, we talked, we shared stories with our grandparents and enjoyed watching TV with the family. Winters were good in a way that we remained indoor mostly so we didn’t get any frostbites. We never thought that we will be able to sit in our galleries and just watch the beautiful sky or get that much time to spend with our family. We never thought that we will care that much for our hygiene, sanitizing hands every hour, maintaining distance from other persons, and wearing masks. No, we had never gone through it and we shall not go again. But I think the habits COVID has given us should last long.
In conclusion, for someone, COVID turned out to be something that came like a storm and destroyed everything. But for others, it turned out to be an opportunity and a blessing in disguise. COVID changed everything and it affected our lives but it is upon us how we adapt and get the best out of it.
